Acute Hepatitis Presenting as Migraine without Aura

Abstract

|
Hepatitis may cause hepatic and extrahepatic diseases. The neurologic complications that share certainty of association with hepatitis include headache, cerebral vasculitis, meningitis and fibromyalgia. Most of these complications are associated with chronic viral hepatitis. Headache is not an uncommon complication of hepatitis. Almost the whole of complicate headache is related to viral hepatitis, anti-viral agents for hepatitis, or presence of jaundice. Here we report a case of acute hepatitis presenting migraine-like headache without jaundice.
